Welcome to Ms. G's Beauty Tutorial

My name is Ms. Geneva Hollowell of Ms. G's Beauty Tutorial. My dreams started in Norfolk, Virginia in 1988. I became a Shampoo Technician at C'est Nouveau Hair Salon. While working at C'est Nouveau, I was interviewed   by a reporter with The Virginia Pilot / The Ledger-Star [TIDEWATER LIVING ] They wrote an entire page on me and called it MAKING A CUT. Can you believe it? I was only a Shampoo Tech!

I loved being around hair so much that I worked and went to school at Hicks Academy of Beauty Culture school in 1990. It was for one year or 1500 hours and I completed school in 1991. After completing school, I went to the Commerce Board for Cosmetology in Virginia for my exam and PASSED. I got my Cosmetology License and worked in several beauty shops.

Although I had my license, I took a break and worked in other fields. Fortunately, when I moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 2000, Stella got her groove back and, in 2001, I went back to Beauty School to become a Teacher/ Instructor. And yes, I did have to get another 1500 hour to one year. I completed school in 2002 and passed my exam. I was a teacher, instructor, mentor, and a mother who had accomplished more than I could imagine.

I worked at beauty College of America for fourteen wonderful years. Unfortunately, Beauty College of America closed in 2016. I taught and mentored an enormous number of students to pass Georgia's Cosmetology State Board Exam. Not only did my students pass their exams with a 90% passing rate, but my babies have won 1st,2nd and 3rd place Trophy's at the Bonner Brother's Hair Shows.

With that being said, I have a great attitude, committed to strengthening your knowledge on content and a wonderful leadership strategy for those seeking extra help passing their practical State Board Exam.

REMEMBER IT TAKES ONE STEP AT A TIME!

I will be having Zoom meeting sessions to help you with your practical test. All of this content is what will be available to practice!

I will be having an open mind conversation page accessible to all students, you will be able to talk about anything on your mind, remember a clear mind always achieves!

Also, for all of my students I created paintings, which is something I would like to implement for all of you! To learn more, visit Hand-Crafted Paintings
